After eating, we stopped by the new Museo Maya de Cancun (Cancun Mayan Museum). It has been open for several months, but it was the first opportunity I have had to visit.
What a great place! Beautiful architecture, interesting Mayan artifacts on exhibit, and a lovely nature trail leading to some Mayan structures that are located in the Hotel Zone, hiding in plain view.
As an added perk, the views of the hotel zone from its second floor and the observation decks are gorgeous!The Museo Maya de Cancun is open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-7pm. The archeological site closes at 4:30 pm. Entrance was just 57 pesos or FREE with your visa.
